What is a tufting workshop?
A tufting workshop is a hands-on creative class where participants use a tufting gun to create a custom rug or textile piece using yarn. At Holy Tuft, our tufting workshops in Edmonton are beginner-friendly to intermediate level and guided step by step by experienced instructors.

Our workshops are recommended for ages 12 and up. Teens (12+) are welcome to attend with a parent or guardian, making our workshops a family-friendly creative experience in Edmonton. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
If you’re interested in a family or private workshop tailored for teens and parents, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to help plan something special.
Can parents and teens (ages 12+)work on one rug together, or make separate rugs?
Both options are available 😊Parents and teens (ages 12+) may choose to collaborate on one rug together or each tuft their own individual rug during the workshop.
If you plan to make separate rugs, each participant will need their own workshop spot. If you’d like to work together on a single rug, just book one spot and let us know in advance.
If you’re unsure which option is best for your family, feel free to reach out — we’re happy to help you decide.

Wanna go deeper into tufting or make a rug bigger than 50x50cm?
We’ve got you covered! ✨ Our Intermediate Tufting Class 70x70cm rug class will be led by an experienced tufting instructor who’ll guide you through larger projects and more advanced techniques.
This class is perfect for anyone who’s already taken our Beginner Workshop or has previous tufting experience and wants to level up their skills — whether it’s tackling a bigger rug or exploring new tufting methods 💪🧶
How long is the workshop?
Tufting workshops lasts up to 5 hours for the 50×50 cm rug, 4 hours for the tote bag class, and 6 hours for the 70×70 cm rug.
What if my design is very detailed or complicated?
To help you finish within the workshop time, we’ll offer guidance on adjusting your design so it’s achievable in one session.
If your design is determined by the instructor to be too complex to complete within the allotted time, you’re welcome to either simplify it or continue working with additional studio time at $25 per hour — handled in a friendly and flexible way.
What will I take home?
You’ll tuft your own mini rug (50×50 cm) and take it home the same day! You can also choose to upgrade your piece into a framed mirror (+$10 add-on) or a 30×30 cm tufted tote bag — perfect for a functional, creative twist.
For the Intermediate Class (70×70 cm), you’ll create and take home your very own 70×70 cm tufted masterpiece 💛
When does registration close?
Registration closes 4 days before the event date so we have enough time to communicate with you about your design and prepare everything for the workshop.
